You can find your Driver's Licence number and class(es) on your Driver licence card.

You must have held a current full driver licence in the class(es) that you are seeking to instruct for at least 2 years.

On successful completion of the AA Driving Instructor Training Course you will need to apply to Land Transport NZ to have your "I" Endorsement officially recognised on your driver licence.

This will involve:

1.Agreeing to a personal background check - called a "fit and proper person" check

2.Providing a current medical certificate no more than sixty (60) days old at the time of applying

3.Undertaking a full licence practical driving test if you have not sat one in the last five (5) years
