Board

The Board is appointed by the National Council and has delegated authority to oversee the Association’s commercial activities.  Board members are appointed for three year terms and retire by rotation.  Those members retiring by rotation are eligible to re-stand.  The Board meets on a monthly basis.


 

Bruno Petrenas
President

Bruno was appointed President of the Association in March 2011. Bruno was co-opted onto the newly formed Bay of Plenty District Council in 1990. He went on to chair both the Bay of Plenty and Auckland District Councils, and has been a long serving National Councillor, and a member of the Board since 2004. Bruno is a chartered professional civil engineer.

Trevor Follows
Vice-President

Trevor was appointed Vice President of the Association in March 2011.  He has been a Member of the Waikato District Council since 1997, has represented the Waikato on the National Council, and has been a member of the Board since 2007. Trevor is a business development consultant.

Roger Bull
Member

Roger was appointed a Member of the Board in 2008 and has been a Member of the Hawke’s Bay District Council since 1998.  Roger is currently an Executive Director for a large buying group that provides businesses with a range of products and services.    

Brett Flintoff
Member

Brett was appointed a Member of the Board in 2010 and has been a Member of the Southland District Council since 2003.  A Chartered Accountant, Brett has owned his private accountancy firm since 1994. 

Warren Masters
Member

Warren was appointed a Member of the Board in March 2011.  Warren is also an AA National Councillor representing Canterbury/West Coast.  He has been a Member of the Canterbury AA District Council since 2003.

Gary Stocker
Member

Gary was appointed a Member of the Board in 2009 and has been a Member of the Nelson AA District Council since 1997.  He is a partner at a specialist business and property law legal firm. 

Lyndsay Tait
Member

Lyndsay was appointed a Member of the Board in 2002.  A Chartered Accountant, Lyndsay has owned his private accountancy firm since 1991 and has been a Member of the Wanganui District Council since December 1988.   

Mark Winger
Member

Mark was first appointed a Member of the Board on its formation in 1993.  He is an Auckland-based commercial lawyer.  Mark was instrumental in the creation of the Waikato District Council in 1991 and the creation of the Northland District Council in 1997.
