I have a 1978 SWB FJ40 Landcruiser. It has a non-factory rollcage that has been bolted to the tub but not the chassis, It was in the vehicle when I purchased it 3 years ago. It has no cert for this that I am aware of. I would like to remove the lid/roof (which is just bolted on) but would need to install seat belt mounts into the roll cage. The cage has 1/2 inch steel plates on both sides bolted together. Do I need a cert for the cage? I know I will need to cert the seat belt mounts, do I do this all at the same time and do I need a cert to remove the doors as I have 1/2 height vinyl and tube doors to replace the standard doors. What is the best way to tackle this?

Hi there,
If you want the vehicle to maintain the wof standards then it is best to have all the modifications certified, for cages and belts you may even need to go down the motorsport authority card route depending if they are harnesses or plain lap and diag belts.
I recommend starting with the LVVTA cert query at http://www.lvvta.org.nz/
