Hi ,

My sister is looking to buy a car and is interested in the Toyota Vitz 1.3 Yaris 2006 ( New Shape).

Dont know much about this type of vehicle. Are they a good car?

1.3 (1300cc) sounds quite small engine size.

What are your thoughts on this type of car and general advice on looking for a new car ( I.E. Engine Size , etc)

These are great popular little cars, the modern small engine can operate a lot more efficiently than the older ones did, hence a small engine is not really a problem. It might struggle a bit when fully loaded on a trip with hills, but should not really give issue. they are not plagued by problems that we are made aware of.
It is advised to get a vehicle inspection report before purchase, and get a history report for vehicles that have been used in NZ on the road to make sure there are no catches you might need to know about (finance, damage, odo changes ect)
