I am after a reasonably safe, cheap to run wagon for a small family. Budget 8k-10k.
I have come across a 2005 Toyota Fielder, 77,000km, Japanese import.
It fits in to the higher end of my budget. Is this a good deal? Anything I should look out for with these cars?
I will probably get a pre purchase inspection.

Would you suggest any other vehicle that would suit?

Thanks for you help

A Fielder would be an excellent choice, and would have been at the top of my recommended list - especially if it is the 1.8, although the 1.5 would be OK too (but 1.5s should be a little cheaper). The kms on this one are low at 77,000, so it sounds like a really good bet.
I would have thought you would get a really tidy example within your proce range, but it is a good idea to have a pre-purchase inspection on a car of this age, just to be sure it's good mechanically.
At this stage, I think you're on the right track, so won't confuse the issue by recommending other models to look at.

Thanks very much. Pre-purchase inspection was excellent.

What fuel to use would be best for this vehicle?

Pleased to hear it turned out well. This vehicle is designed to run on 91 octane fuel.
