Recently I took my car to the garage for repair and the mechanics spotted a blown head gasket which involved the engine and it would cost a lot of money to repair the car. Now that I know the problem, I have no intention on fixing the car in order to renew the WOF. I am just thinking what is the best way to get rid of the car. The car is still running fine but the cost of fixing the car is really the reason I want to get rid of it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

A quick Google search for "scrap car removal nz" reveals a number of companies providing this service. Here's the first Scrap Car Company that came up on my search, but depending on where you are located in New Zealand, there's bound to be one near you.
Alternatively, you could sell it on Trade Me - perhaps run a $1 reserve auction - but be clear in your ad that the car has major engine problems and no WoF etc.
