Dear AA

Was looking at a car in the weekend and had a question as to if it was worth going any further

Test drove the car on Sat and Sun both from cold start (left over night)

On the Sat the car started no problem was very smooth etc etc, however on the Sun there was a slight engine rattle for approx 1-2 mins until the temp on the car had risen

Is it worth getting this checked further ie paying for a mechanical check or does this indicate something more serious and I should leave it

My last toyota 1995 corrolla also had a similar issue when cold so not 100% sure if just a toyota thing

Car is import 1.3L 2006 Toyota Passo and has done 43388km dealer is asking $7.5 for it, is this a fair price?

Thanks very much for your time

This model has a good reputation for reliability, and this is a low mileage car, so under normal circumstances I'd say it's fairly low risk.
A "rattling" noise is quite a subjective thing - and obviously there's no way I can guess what that might be. If you have any concerns, perhaps arrange a pre-purchase inspection when the car is cold, specifying that you'd like the inspector to listen out for the noise, and perhaps arrange to be there yourself so you can pinpoint the noise you're refering to.
The price seems about right for this model.
