Hi there,
Looking at a brand new Skoda rapid liftback. Wanted to know is the car any good and any known issues with the car?

ABayliss

This is a car that we have been most impressed with. Like all recent Skoda product, the build quality, driving dynamics and comfort are excellent, with all the main componentry being the same as Volkswagen product.
We particularly like the layout of the Rapid (sedan styling with liftback practicality).
One of the earlier criticisms was that parts availability could be an issue, but the local distributor has built a huge warehouse facility in New Zealand, addressing this issue.

Thank you for the info, saw that there is a brand new rapid sport selling for $24990 + Orc is it a good buy? Also wanted to find out about the servicing cost involved as the dealership has mention servicing is 2 years or 30000kms seems too good to be true. Also is there any reliability issues that I need to be aware of? Thanks

ABayliss

Yes, we have it confirmed that 2 years/30,000km is the service interval. I understand a long-life oil is used which may be a little more expensive than normal, but the convenience of not having to go to the dealer so often seems good.
To our knowledge, there are no real reliability issues.
