Hi there,
I m thinking to buy an Odyssey (Dec 1999) for 4500$; I assume it is not a bad price since the car has "only" 135k km.
I looked at the vehicle history report to check the odometer consistency and it says:
10-Mar-11 Border Check     14,774 km
24-Mar-11 Pre-registration Check    94,787 Km
Now, there is some wrong here: it is impossible the car did 80,000k in New Zealand in 14 days...
Can you explain that? Should I give this car up?
The car looks in good conditions and has new battery water pump and drive belt. (no info on the cambelt... how can I find it out?)

Thank you

ABayliss

I strongly suspect that a clerical error was made when the car crossed the border, and was incorrectly entered as 14,774km instead of 94,774km. If you can trace the original importer, you may be able to verify this and possibly even have it corrected on the NZTA database, however, given the age and value of the vehicle, as long as you can satisfy yourself that this is what occurred, getting it changed may not be a major concern.
Regarding the cambelt, it will pay you to check but I suspect the cambelt has been incorrectly called a drive belt, as it would be unthinkable to replace a water pump without replacing the cambelt, as the water pump is driven off the cambelt.

Thanks for your reply. How can I can trace the original importer and verify the km?
