Kia ora,

Does anyone own a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV hybrid / electric car? Please share pros and cons and any other advice. We took one for a test drive and are thinking about buying one.

We've most certainly been impressed with this vehicle and it is a top 10 finalist in the 2014 New Zealand AA / Motoring Writers' Guild Car Of The Year.
The great thing that appeals about the PHEV is that it can be used as a pure EV to travel back and forth to work during the week, plugging in overnight and running on electricity, but has the practicality of being able to travel the coultry in petrol/hybrid mode during the weekends.
We'd be interested to hear from owners too.

My company currently own 4 of this. My lease car just got replaced with Outlander from a 2011 Rav4. My view is impressive overall.

I use it on electric mode for city use. does about 30-40km on full charge. not as good as they say but does me a round trip.

Hybrid is also reasonably economical but again not as good as they claim to be.

car is very quite and smooth drive. Fun to drive and decent handling. Under powered when you driving on highway and also you do get road noises on the highway.

so far didn't have any isse but bare in mind, it's still very new.

you have resistance setting that you can use when your foot off the gas pedal in order to get more charges and make the car efficient but over all it's a good intro to electric/Hybrid. Will keep you guys posted if anything interesting happens.
