Hi there,
Mazda 3 (,2.0cc,102kw), Mazda 6 (2.2cc,122kw) is there much different between the two models (mazda 3/mazda 6) when it comes to fuel efficiency, as to which model is more fuel efficient and economical run/maintain.

Also if you can give me fair market value for below mentioned:

1) mazda 6, 2003, manual, 200,000kms', good condition...
2) mazda 3, 2005, manual, 250,000kms, good condition.

Thank you.

Hi there,
Both Mazdas are good cars. The Mazda 3 will be the most ecomonic, being a smaller car and engine size.Fuel usage differs by .8 of a litre per 100kms. Maintenance would be fairly similar.
The market value will depend the the specific models of the cars you mentioned. Will need more info, model type, engine size,
Madza 3 2.0ltr would be around 9-10k due to high mileage.
Mazda 6 2.3ltr would be around 7-8k.

Hi,
I wanted to get some more info with ref to particular Mazda 3 model type, engine size.

Mazda 3, GSX, 2.0 ltr with 250,000km's (high mileage), manual, well maintained, chain driven...if you can give me some info/specs as to how this car behaves ,market value.

The other is a Mazda 6, 2.3ltr, 200,000km's (less mileage), manual... well maintained & good condition, market value price...is it same as you mentioned above (price)

if you can let me know as to which is better, i think as you stated earlier Mazda 3 will be more economical but in terms of what model retains after sale/resale value..etc

Thanks.

hi there,
so fm what I gather Mazda 3 has a higher fair market price value compared to a Mazda 6. Is this due to the pure economical factor a Mazda 3 (2.0ltr) provides?

Rgds,
J

Hi,
That and also i think smaller cars are a more popular choice at the moment.
Due to the economy and size.

Hi there,
I cant seem to find a whole lot of specs on vehicle of this age.
From what i can see, both vehicles are as good as each other.
The 6 will be more powerful than the 3, but less economic.
Personal preference will pay a big part in your choice. Due to the age and mileage differences, both cars should be valued around the same if your looking at buying.
However resale could be difficult, market value is hard to say, as not many people would be interested in cars with such high mileage. Our book value is only an indication.

Jeeves

yes I understand , thank you, not many people be interested in cars with such high mileage. Only plus feature which I can think of for the Mazda 3 is that it is chain driven and well looked after even though it has over 250,000km's.

Yes the chain drive is good, but may need replacement along with the tensioners if they get noisey due to high mileage. Due to stretching and could put the timing out over time.
A cambelt needs replacing every 100k, and is a little easier than a chain.
