Hi,
My partner and I are looking at Toyota Corolla Fielder 's to buy used.
We have noticed they are recommended as very reliable and dependable cars, and the size looks great for us & our surfboards. (and maybe a future family car)

We are currently looking at a NZ new 2006 model with 99,000km for approx $7500. We have booked a pre-purchase inspection.

I am just a tad concerned with it being a 1.5L model ( I currently drive a 1.8L nissan pulsar, but 1993! model, I like its sportiness, would this 2006 model compare?). And also it may be a CVT model.
Should I pursue this model?

Hi there,
These cars are not bad. However the 1500cc may be a little under powered for your liking.
It appears that these can come with a cvt or 4 speed auto. If it is a cvt i would stay away from it, as they are known to give trouble. Maybe a NZ new one doesn't have a cvt.
Maybe try a caldina wagon of the similar year, they have a larger engine and better transmission. And see what you think.
