We are looking to buy a diesel Prado in Australia to pull our camper trailer. Is there any particular model or faults that we should wary of. We will get it checked by the RACQ. Our budget is not huge, up to about $15k which gets something with about 250,000ks on the clock and about 10-12 years old. We will be only doing about 10 - 12000ks on this trip and plan to store it thenreturn for next years winter as well. Any advice would be appreciated.

The 3.0 litre diesel Prado is a great tow vehicle and if maintained properly, is quite reliable. Obviously, a 250,000km vehicle is not without risk, but if the vehicle has a good service history and checks out OK mechanically, it should suit your purpose well.
