Hi there,
I am looking at purchasing a used Nissan March generally of the year 2002 as they are $4 grand or under.
I like the fact that they are small, chain driven, economical and have 5 doors.
I was wondering if there is anything I should be looking out for with cars such as this, at this age? Once they reach a certain amount of Km's do they become less reliable? Also, one car i have been looking at is an ex-rental car. Here is the link, https://trademe.co.nz/866731000
Nissan March 2002
Would you recommend or warn me against this? They say it has been regularly getting COF's and that they want to upgrade their rental fleet, hence the reason for selling. Thanks in advance.

Hi there,
These cars are a great little run about car. I don't have any stand out issues to speak of.
Just make sure that it has been reguarily serviced.
I would make sure you get a pre purchase inspection, just to make sure the general mechanical condition is fine.
The little chain drive engines need to have a regular servicing in order to make sure they last and don't give trouble.

Thank you for your reply.
So you don't have any concerns about it being an ex-rental car? Also how different are the standards for a COF vs a WOF? If it was regularly getting a COF is it likely to pas the standards of a WOF? Thanks

Hi there,
I have no concerns on an ex rental car. It may have a few more scuffs and scratches than normal. I doesn't seen the type of car that would get a hard life.
The Cof standards are higher than Wof so there will be no worries there.
