Hi, I am looking at changing cars and have extensively looked on the internet & now figure a Wingroad is out, even if 2011 due to the CVT Transmission possibility. Is that right? Also a 2000cc Caldina as it's D4 is not good option but can you please confirm if the 1.8 Caldina if it says VVTI is okay?? Is it possible that there are some Avensis 2000cc which are not D4. Ended up looking at so many cars I'm starting to make headway but also getting confused! I have always looked at Nissan and Toyota as being my far the best options but now see that the Mazda Atenza is also meant to have a good name? Please help. Thanks

Hi there,
VVTI non d4 engines are good, most have this form of valve timing control now.
I would still stay away from cvt transmissions unless the car is very new.
The D4 engine has FSE in the engine code, example 1az-FSE. There a quite a few engine
types in the Avensis.
Mazda Attenza/Mazda6 are very good cars, and worth a look.
