In terms of power and acceleration what would you say is the best out of Terrano and Wizard?

You would need to drive each one to find out. Informtion is hard to find for these vehicles now.

I don't suppose out of the 2 you'd know which has more room in the rear with the seats folded down?

I would think the Terrano would have more room, just by looking at the shape.
However without looking at both side by side, it's hard to tell.

I've just been talking to people and 2 of them have said the diesel Terrano is the way to go cos they last longer and are cheaper to repair. One of them said the petrols are more likely to overheat due to putting out more power. Do you agree? I'm just worried that the cost of servicing and registering and RUCs won't be worth it for the amount of use it'll get. And then NZTA told me if I use it on the farm I can apply for any off-road kms used so I have to record them too

The Diesel would be the better option in regards to fuel economy and it would hold it's value longer.
The vehicles would only overheat if the cooling system was in poor condition, or cracked head/ blown headgasket. Regardless of engine type and nothing to do with power.
Bare in mind that these vehicles you are looking at have had their best years and you should be prepared for componants to be worn may need replacing.
