Hi,

I need to buy a car as my new job is not on a public transport route. I will roughly be traveling about 80km each day (that is for a return trip).

We have a Toyota Camry which is rather heavy on fuel and so we bought a smaller Toyota Yaris so that we can use that to take kids to and from school and so on. However with my new job we want to get another small type car that will be fuel economical due to the distances I would need to drive. We considered a Honda Fit because we liked that it would have a big boot space and also fuel economical, but now learn that the CVT transmission is not a good thing. The car we will need to consider will be an older model and probably one with slightly higher mileage. Our limit is about $6,000. Can you please help me with an idea of the model and make of car to consider that would be both reliable as well as fuel economical (and hopefully a slightly bigger boot space than the Yaris we have).

Unfortunately I have no idea where to start looking.

Hi there,
I have found a few options that may be good to look at.
2005 Nissan plusar.,
Mazda Demio around 2004.
Corolla Runx 2002 ish. Thses cars look like they have standard transmissions.
I would get a Pre Purchase Check on your favorite before buying.
