Hi,
I am thinking to buy a 2008 Toyota Avensis 2.4 Qi model. Could you please advise the following questions. Thanks.
-   Is this model easy to maintain in terms of easy to find parts, cost effective,...etc
-   Any concerns on D4 VVTi engine issue
-   The vehicle is advertised AA safety certified, Odometer checked and AA appraised. Do I need to do AA car inspection again?
By the way, this is my first time buying 2nd hand car, is there anything else I need to check or be aware of? Thanks.

I think the car as a whole is good, however the downside I see is the D4 engine. They are prone to carboning up the intake and running rough. I would talk to a toyota mechanic about it, and see if they are still a problem for 2008 engines.
I would also recommend a pre purchase inspection to give indication the overall condition of the vehicle.
Another thing to look for is two keys, as a second key can be expensive to buy.
