I need some advice on a good 5 door hatch. Currently I drive a 2001 Fiat Punto 1.2 ELX with 253421 ks. It is still very good but now very expensive for parts. I thought something like a Toyota that runs on lower octane and cheaper, easier to get parts but wondered about another Punto? Polo? and the Skoda Fabia has been mentioned as an option. I drive a manual which I find good for control, especially on the open road. At the moment I do travel good distances on the open road 2-3 times a week with a monthly petrol account between $200-300. I would be grateful for your advice.

Hi there, For Euro cars the Polo and Fabia are excellent choices.
I have driven the latest of both and were very happy with them.
Maybe a Suzuki Swift or Mazda 2 could also suit?.
