I am planning to buy a car this week. The car I am planning to buy will go for a pre inspection at VTNZ today because AA is fully booked until Monday. Could you please let me know whether AA will accept the inspection certificate from VTNZ if I want to get AA mechanical breakdown insurance? Also, if I want to get AA mechanical breakdown insurance, within which time frame should I get it? Thanks.

The VTNZ inspections are accepted as long as it is the full inspection.
You have 14 days with which to use the inspection to apply for the Mechanical Insurance, after that time, you need another. So I would not leave it longer that this to apply.
