Any thoughts/issues generally on the Toyota Avensis? 2012, 2L model.

These cars a quite popular, however the 2.0ltr FSE direct injection engine has been known to give all sorts of trouble. And can be costly to fix and hard to get parts for.
So unfortunately due to this, it is not a vehicle we widely recommend, but if you do get one it pays to have it thoroughly checked before hand.
In fact any of the Toyota engines with FSE in the code up till 2010, is recommended to be cautious with.

2009 was the changeover year, Toyota used a different engine after this time and it seems to work better, we have received no negative feedback so far.
