Hi,

We are looking at getting a seven seater people mover on a budget of around $8-9K. At present we are looking at the following makes: Honda Odyssey, Nissan Lafesta, Toyota Ipsum from around 2004-2007. Is there any issues with any of these that I should be aware of? And how do the compare safety and economy wise?

Thank you

Hi there,
The Nissan Lafesta comes to mind, they have a CVT transmission that can potentially give issue in Nissans around this year period. The Odyssey and Ipsum are good options and have a conventional 4 or 5 speed transmission. Safety and economy of these older vehicles are a bit of a mixed bag, and depends on how they have been looked after/ serviced and also what safety items they have. Imported vehicle specifications are hard to come by and often different to what is available in NZ new.
