We are looking at buying a new Ford Ranger XLT. The reviews are excellent but some Australian forums are full of both praise and horror stories about mechanical and electronic faults affecting reliability. Do you have any information on this?

I've not heard any horror stories for about any models of the Ranger here in NZ, you may find the spec Aus gets is different to that which is chosen here (as with a lot of vehicles)

Thanks Cade. Seems to be same or similar as Aus, with problems noted being mostly transmission and electronics. Dog and Lemon (tough crowd, I know) rate as dodgy, probably, though surely similar to Territory which they liked last time I looked, admittedly I looked when it only had a year or two of history.
