We currently have a 2000 Spacious. It’s a great little car, still relatively low mileage, and the seat heights are great for easy entry and exit, and for visibility. But after seeing and reading about the comparative Corolla crash tests, I’m wondering whether we should be upgrading to a later model Spacio.
Toyota apparently stopped producing the Spacio in 2007. So I’ve got two questions.
First, would the Spacio safety results be the same as Corolla results?
Second, are the 2006-07 test results for the Spacio better than our current 2000 model? (I can’t seem to find them.)
Thanks very much,
Mike

Hi there,
Because the Spacio is a used Japanese import and the Corolla is NZ new, the safety specs, tests and information is totally different and very hard to come by for the Japanese Domestic spec vehicles. There are not the same ratings or safety equipment fitted to the imported vehicles as opposed to the NZ new ones selected by the NZ manufacturer dealers.
