my caldinas oil light has started coming on during left hand turns briefly. the oil level is good, the car uses no oil or water, and runs very smoothly. is the light coming on as it does significant?

This definitely needs to be investigated. It is possible that there may be a loose electrical connection causing the problem, but it's also possible that the car is losing oil pressure, which could result in damage to your engine. Therefore, I'd advise getting the car to your mechanic ASAP.
