I'm considering purchasing a Ford Capri (early 90's model). Have these vehicles proven reliable, what should I look out for when making my decision?

The most important thing to look out for is rust, which could be hidden and previous accident repairs. However, this vehicle is an old vehicle and it’s an enthusiasts car, there will always be necessary maintenance repairs but for its time the reliability was ok.

I would suggest that you get a mechanic to test drive the car and listen out for transmission, differential and engine noises (as well as engine smoking), etc. You could go one step further and have the vehicle inspected by a workshop/mechanic that has a passion for older vehicles.
