Hey there, I've got a Honda Logo at 180,000kms. I can hear the gears clunk a little when accelerating up to 50km/ph. What's a likely cause for this? Does it damage the engine? Is it expensive to fix? Thanks for your help!

A slipping clutch will not cause clunking. When the clutch slips, the engine revs high but road speed doesn't progress as it should. As you mention a clutch, I'm assuming this is a manual vehicle - but it's impossible to say what might be causing a clunking noise from the gears.
If the noise is coming from the gears, it's unlikely to damage the engine, but could certainly be damaging the gearbox further. Hence, it's important to have the vehicle checked out by a mechanic or gearbox specialist ASAP.
