I have a Daewoo Nubira stationwagon (1998 model), and it has a problem with uneven idling. It is idling too high when it first starts, and sometimes revs up and down by itself. We had the same problem last year and had the throttle body and stepper motor reconditioned to fix it, but the fix has only lasted around 8 months as the problem has now returned.

My question is now, is it worth us getting the Stepper motor reconditioned again to try to fix it, or is it unlikely to work? We were told when we first got it fixed that it wasn't possible to get a new or replacement stepper motor for our model of car, so reconditioning is the only option. Is this correct - does no one sell the parts for this model of car?

I'd be keen to hear the opinion of an expert about whether its worth trying to get it fixed again, as I'm planning to sell the car and not sure if I should go the trouble to get it fixed before selling to get a better price or just sell it as is.

Hi there,
I do know that some parts for older vehicles are now harder to obtain, I do think an auto electrical could rebuild one. Or you may need to put a used one on and hope that it won't suffer the same failure.
I would recommend repairing before sale, even if it won't add value to the car, it would at least make it easier to sell.
