I purchased a 2014 Mini Cooper from a dealership about 5 weeks ago. I noticed on Sunday (just been) the trim around the rear driver side wheel was coming off (broken clip apparently)...through no fault of my own. I also don't know how long it has been like this. I only noticed it because I finally washed my car. Am I expected to pay for this or should the dealer repair this for free. The Mini has a 2-3 year warranty. It is going in tomorrow and i didn't ask what should happen. I need to know what is expected before it gets repaired...so i know what my rights are (if i have any in this situation). Thanks

Hi there,
This issue could be a little tricky. But you are covered by the manufactureres warranty if
it is a defect in the trim. On the other hand the car groomer could have damaged it
while cleaning or something catching on it. I would hope that the dealer would cover the cost of repair, since you have only had the vehicle a few weeks. The CGA states the vehicle must be fit for purpose and last for a reasonable amount of time. So I would still think it will be the dealers responsibility.

Thank you. Yes it was covered under the manufacturers warranty.
