I am doing a shuttle service with a Toyota Hiace 2009. It is well maintained and serviced every 10000km. It now has 640000 km on the clock. The company I am contracted to for the service issued an arbitrary cap on the km of 450000km or 6years of age. Do we have any evidence that a well maintained vehicle, provided it is service religiously with genuine parts can go further than this subjective cut off km and still be safe, and fit for purpose?

Hi there,
Generally Japanese vehicles are designed to have a life of 200,000km.
I know vans can do high mileage, but from a fleet point of view you would be on borrowed time with these vehicles. Looks like the company what to keep the fleet a certain age and condition to keep up a good presentation.
I don't have any evidence that would help sorry.
