Hi There,
I have recently bought an Honda Airwave 2007 being a new Japanese import.
Having just down-sized from an Odyssey (1995), I am disappointed with the much more prominent engine noise particularly noticeable at steady speed.
Just wondering if this is just a normal feature of a station wagon with the smaller engine or whether likely to be peculiar to this particular vehicle?
Many Thanks

Hi there,
The Airwave has a CVT transmission, which means it's a "one-speed" so the revs remain high while the speed increases. This differs in operation to a conventional 4 or 5-speed conventional transmission, this could potentially increase drive noise. Other developments that could increase engine operating noise is the way the engine is designed to operate (injection system) and the way it is driven, chain or belt. However if you think it may be a problem, definitely get it looked at for peace of mind, incase a problem is starting to show.

Many thanks for your reply! Is it possible to have someone in your department to have a quick look/ listen to see whether it is worth investigating further?
Thanks for your time.
