Hi there, my 2008 lancer is about to have a new abs pump installed but i wondered what mitsubishi had to say. If they got back to you.

Hi Georgpie. Both lostdog and myself contacted Mitsubishi NZ on several occasions regarding this problem and they just wont accept any liability for the failure of this component. This is despite the fact that in Australia Mitsubishi has reimbursed Lancer owners with the same problem. As a long time user of Mitsubishi company vehicles (over35 years) without any major failures to speak of I bought this vehicle expecting a long and trouble free life time. Needless to say I will never buy another Mitsubishi.
Hi there, thanks for that. Yes i agree with you. I love my corollas but like the lancers so thought Id buy one. Now so regret it. Will also go back to toyota. Well i to will drop a line to mitsubishi and also thort if there were others out there if fair go might help our cause.... A thought.
I never thought of Fair Go but am happy to be involved if others are also. What really annoys is that failure of the ABS system is a WOF fail but Mitsubishi will not accept that it is a safety issue and do a recall as they claim the brakes still work in non-ABS mode. But they are happy to sell the car as a "Five Star" compliant vehicle which it would not be without ABS. I am particularly peeved because my vehicle, as a spare car, had only done just over 20,000k when the fault happened
As I said owners in Aus are being compensated but not here in NZ....MitsubishiNZ=cheapskates?
Right well Im thinking of getting on my facebook page and see if there are others out there who also have this problem. Yes I got told by mechanic that it will fail a wof if not fixed but ok to drive around. Go figure.. Will keep in touch.
