Hello. My Nissan has developed a noise when running between approximately 1700rpm and cuts out at about 2100rpm. The Nissan agent said it was a cracked exhaust manifold and they replaced it - I did not sight the old manifold. I returned to the agent the day after picking the vehicle up from the manifold replacement as the noise was still evident. The agent said it was a loose cover and fiddled about with something but the noise is still there and getting noisier with every outing. I have checked & tightened every nut, bolt, cover & flange I can lay my hands on but to no avail.
I had Raglan Diesel check the injectors (1# needed re-setting) and this made no difference. The noise appears to be accompanied by vibrations & is most evident when under load but can be replicated in the garage by revving the engine when hot.
What next?

Hi there,
Without knowing specific model/ engine information there could be a few options. One being the possibility of an engine internal noise, this would be the last thing you want, but definitely needs getting to the bottom of. I would have thought a Nissan agent would be the best place to check your vehicle out, esp if they can hear the noise.
