Hi,

I notice that your 2014 Diesel Running costs reports suggests a medium size diesel engined vehicle costs around 83c per kilometre to run.

Does this calculation include 4WD diesel engines?

Yes. But it must be realised that while our specialist experts spend considerable time and effort calculating the running costs, this does apply to a range of vehicles in a particular category.
As we've said here many times before, the biggest single component to annual running costs is the depreciation, so a slight variance in fuel economy (as could be the case with a 4WD) makes very little difference when all other calcualtions are taken into account.
FYI, the IRD rate is 77c per km.
