I will be expected to use car for work (sometimes) and claim mileage... it has been stated 59c per km for the first 5000km then reduced to 41c per km. My car odometer is over 250,000kms. Driving area: 322 kms length X 107km width +travel everywhere in between back & forth.
How much mileage (cents) should I expect and/or is the above cents per km reasonable? Trying to calculate long term if I will end up paying for fuel?

Secondly, Are there any other costs I should consider when expected to use a car for work?

Our running cost calculations are carried out on vehicles 3 - 5 years of age where depreciation is a significant cost. On a 16 year old high mileage vehicle, it has already depreciated to quite a low value, so there is very little (if any) depreciation to be factored into the running cost.
You don't say which engine your car has, but assuming it is a 2.3 litre (which is the most common) our calculation on a 3 year old car would be 80c per km. Given the age and mileage of your car, the true cost is likely to be around half that value, so it sounds like you've negotiated a fairly good rate with your employer. This will more than cover your "flexible" running costs (which include petrol, oil, tyres, repairs and maintenance etc), which we calculate to be 28.7c per km.
