We have just bought the above vehicle, to a large degree due to the excellent fuel economy ratings, as we desperately wanted a cheaper vehicle to run. So we are a bit crushed now, post-sale, to realise we are supposed to use the expensive 95 octane fuel - recommended by the car dealer. I see online that this may only be a dealer's "better safe than sorry" advice; but I have been unable to find Mazda's manufacturer's recommendation, and the (used imported) vehicle does not include a manual. Do you have information on what fuel is recommended for this model? Your advice would be appreciated.

Hi there,
The specs I can find show Unleaded use but does not specify. However we have found that most Japanese vehicles can run on 91, with European and turbo vehicles generally requiring the higher octane.
The NZ new Mazda2 1.5 lists 91 octane fuel recommended.
