Hi we recently bought Honda Odyssey from car dealer. Initially the driver seat was damaged but they said they will fix it and we wouldn't even notice. 1 wk later they we went to pick up our car. The car seat had paint spots and the leather side was quite old look, the arm rest was upside down (they used wrong side one so won't fit), told them we are not happy with it, so left without car (we already paid our deposit before), 2 wks later we called, they still didn't have seat so we ageeed (wrote on paper and they signed it) that they will find the seat within 2 months and will change it then. We paid for car and took home. Within few days noticed noise, so asked local mechanics and was told there is leaking from power steering. Took car back last Tuesday, said will call us, we called on Friday, he said will call back on Monday. It was getting fixed on Saturday. Still not sure if we will have car back on Monday. Told me 'the mechanics are busy, you know, it's not just your car they have to fix' I said 'yeah I know but you had it for almost week!'
Absolutely frustrating. Basically have 3 month warranty but we only had car for like 1 wk and it's been at the dealer for the majority of time.
Our plan is once we have car back get platinum service at aa, but if they find some faults can we get full money back?

Hi there,
This outlines the importance of getting a vehicle inspected before purchase.
The regulation on rejection of the vehicle under the CGA (consumer guarantees act) is available as an option if the vehicle faults are classed as serious (unsafe vehicle/ uneconomical to repair) and this needs to de discussed with the dealer. But if the faults are not classed serious and the dealer is repairing, then they are fulfilling their end of the requirement. https://www.consumerprotection.govt.nz/get-guidance/buying-maintaining-and-renting-a-car/solving-issues-with-your-car-dealer/
