I hit a car in a supermarket carpark. This car was not registered. Does that mean it should not be on the road and therefore I am not liable for the damage?

Hi there,
No unfortunately it does not mean that at all. You are still liable for damages caused, they would get an infringement by an enforcement officer for the lack of registration (if they were present), but it would not change accident liability.
