So I am going my restricted licence soon and I cannot drive after 10pm (obviously); the problem is I have a part time job and don't finish until 10pm on a Monday night. I was just wondering if I might be eligible for an exemption?

You can apply to NZTA for an exemption from the conditions of your licence, however in our experience they are very rarely granted.

Here's an extract from the NZTA website relating to licence exemptions;

"We're unlikely to grant exemptions
...for
learner car driver licences (class 1)
learner motorcycle licences (class 6)
the first six months of your restricted licence
work purposes only (eg nanny, security, deliveries).

How to apply for a driver licence exemption

Send your application along with original copies of your supporting evidence and payment of the $27.20 non-refundable fee to the address on page 1 of the application form. You can also pay over the phone by credit card by calling 0800 822 422."
