Hi,

Can we use personalized number plate done and use it when we buy a used car?
The used car has its own number plate(eg.ABC100).

- If this is possible, what is the procedure for this before getting the car on road with this
- Will it incur any additional cost apart from getting the personalized plate made
- what happens to the existing number plate,
can we use the existing number plate when we re-sell this car at a later stage
- Can the formalities be completed by the dealer from where we purchase this car
- Can the personalized plate be used by us when we purchase a new car later on

Yes, if you already have a personalised plate made up, it can be transferred onto any car at an AA Licensing Centre or Postshop. There is a small admin fee of $4.90 including the new licence label.
The existing plate must be surrendered and when you remove the personalised plate when you sell the vehicle at a later date, the vehicle will be issued with a new plate.
Generally, the dealer will be happy to take care of the formalities for you.
Yes, the presonalised plate can be transferred to another vehicle at a later date.
