Toyota Hilux 1988 Ute
Can a 1993 cab be put in place of the 88 cab without any certification being required? And can the 88 vin tag be used on the 93 cab?
Is this legal?

It is possible to get the VIN reassigned so that the new cab takes on the VIN from the original chassis. This needs to be done through aCompliance Centre. As long as there are no modifications required to bolt the new cab onto the old chassis, it may not be necessary to have the vehicle LVV certified, but it would pay to check with a LVV certifier first.
