Recently my grand daughter (6 years old) crashed her bicycle into the left rear of a parked car.
The car was parked over the top of the berm (approx 600mm wide) and partially onto the footpath approx (car tyres approx 60-80 mm). The owners of the car want me to pay for the damage to damage (approx $150).
Am I liable for the damage, if so how can they claim payment other than me paying directly.
Thank you

Hi there,
If the car was parked illegally, I would imagine this may be a seperate matter, and may not absolve the fact that your grand daughter accidently caused damage to the vehicle.
The matter of paying for the damage caused to the vehicle may be pursued through the small claims court, and if you lose you may end up having to pay court costs as well as the damage to the vehicle. Another way to pay, could be paying the panel beater after the repair was carried out, but you may not have the luxury of choosing this option.
