Hi there,
I found out recently that the previous owner of my car left an unpaid parking fine.
The private parking company is trying to make me pay (i sent to them proof that i bought the car after the fine happened), however they have now hired a consultancy company which is pushing me to pay.
Am i liable to pay? Can they send me to court? Can they reposes or clamp my car?

The fine is not specially expensive... it's not about the money, it's about the point of it.

The parking company cannot take you to court nor repossess or clamp your car. Their only option is to lodge a claim with the Disputes Tribunal which they are unlikely to do if they know you can prove you bought the car after the parking breach.
