Hi, I have my restriced license, i live a 5 minute drive from school and would like to apply for an exemption to drive my sister home with me when it's raining, other wise we have to walk home and get drenched, i have completed a defensive driving course and i am an extremely safe driver. i just wanted to ask for someone's opinion on this before i spend $30 to apply

Hi there,
Unfortunately it would be unlikely that the NZTA would accept your license exemption request. The NZTA state they don't grant exemptions from the licensing requirements if you are claiming on grounds of inconvenience or financial hardship. https://www.nzta.govt.nz/driver-licences/exemptions/#exemption-driver-licence-requirements
