AA Safety Check

The AA wants motorists to be safe on the roads, which is why we introduced the AA Safety Check.

AA Members are entitled to two free 16-point vehicle safety checks each year.

Non-members can book a vehicle safety check for $19 per check.

About the AA Safety Check

The AA Safety Check is a basic health check of your vehicle by an automotive technician. It's Ideal to get a check between your next warrant to ensure your vehicle remains road safe.

It includes items that commonly lead to vehicles failing their WoFs:

  • Lights
  • Under bonnet
  • Vision
  • Steering
  • Tyres
  • Brakes
  • Seatbelts

From 1 January 2014, the Warrant of Fitness rules changed. By the end of 2014 all cars registered from 1 January 2000 switched from a six month WoF requirement to 12 months.

Prior to the WoF rule changes, a third of all cars failed their six-monthly WoFs. With these changes, this number is likely to increase.
