Carrying Dependants On A Restricted License
You can not normally carry passengers on a restricted licence without a supervisor in the front passengers seat of the vehicle. However, if you have children who live with you and are under the care of yourself or your partner you may carry them without a supervisor being present in the vehicle. 1 year ago |

Passengers - Restricted License
I am a little hazy on the rules regarding carrying passengers under a restricted license. I have been told that you are able to carry a spouse regardless of the license status. Is this true and if so, what is the definition of a spouse? Julie From the "Ask Jack" archives - 14 December 2009 1 year ago |

Exemptions for Restricted Drivers
Exemptions can be applied for but in your case it's a safe bet it would be declined flat. When applying for an exemption you need to prove why you shouldn't be required to comply with the law and only in extreme circumstances are exemptions issued. To be honest this would have to be one of the most commonly asked questions from parents or their siblings in recent times. If exemptions were given out lightly, the amount of young inexperienced drivers carrying unlicensed drivers would skyroc... 1 year ago |

The rule in part states that if you hold a restricted car licence, you are entitled to carry certain passengers without obtaining an exemption. Two of those passengers are: - Children who live with you and are under the care of you or your spouse (you or your spouse support them financially). - Someone you look after as their primary caregiver. If asked by the authorities, yo... 1 year ago |

Restricted License
Just to clarify the restricted licence conditions as per the answer in the link above, you can only carry relatives who live with you if they are on a benefit, in other words an adult who may be dependant on you for transport. Assuming your brother is not on a benefit, you are breaching your restricted licence conditions if you carry him as a passenger and there is no other adult supervisor in the car who has held their Full licence for more than 2 years. 7 months ago |

Restriced License
Listed below are the conditions under which a restricted licence can be used taken from the NZTA website. Unless your girlfriend has held their full licence for at least two years then I think the short answer is a definite no in your case. What are the conditions for a restricted car licence? Between these times you must have a supervisor in t... 8 months ago |
