We recommend that you take a series of driving lessons with an AA Driving Instructor.  Our experience shows that a single lesson before a test is unlikely to provide you with the skills and confidence necessary to pass the test.

About our lessons

One of our qualified friendly and patient trainers will pick you up from home or school. It’s much easier than learning with a friend or family member.

You’ll learn in a modern dual-controlled car – it’ll make you feel safe and comfortable while you’re starting to learn on-road skills for New Zealand's unique conditions.

The theory you need to learn is incorporated into practical training while you’re in the car. We'll chart your progress with our key driving skills card. It's a blueprint that helps us identify your driving progress and needs. It will hardly feel like a lesson!
