AA Smartfuel Offer terms and conditions – Life Cover and Funeral Cover

As a holder of an AA Smartfuel card you will be able to save 20 cents per litre (maximum of 50 litres) once a month for 12 months when you take out a new Life Cover or Funeral cover policy with AA Life. Please note your discount will be applied to your account within one month after you have paid your first months premiums. 

To take advantage of this offer you need to register your AA Smartfuel Card with us when you take out your new policy.

Terms and conditions

  • The offer applies to any new Life Cover or Funeral Cover policy taken out during the Promotional Period (as defined in the relevant offer email) and is not valid with any other offers.
  • The offer is not applicable to existing policies.
  • The offer is not transferrable and cannot be exchanged for cash. The offer is not available in conjunction with any other offer. The offer is for 20 cents per litre (maximum of 50 litres) fuel discount in a single transaction through the AA Smartfuel programme once a month for 12 months.
  • The fuel discount will only be available for 12 months if your Policy is current and premiums are paid in full on time each month, otherwise the fuel discount will lapse for the remainder period. If you pay more frequently (e.g. fortnightly) then you must have paid the full month (e.g. two fortnightly payments) in order to qualify for the fuel discount that month.
  • A current AA Smartfuel card must be presented at time of taking out your new Life Cover or Funeral Cover policy to qualify for the fuel discount.
  • Only one offer per customer per policy type (i.e. applies only to the first Life Cover and Funeral Cover policy taken out by that customer during the Promotional Period (’Qualifying Policy’). • If you are using additional cards, only the Primary AA Smartfuel account holder is eligible for the fuel discount (additional cardholders may not redeem the discount).
  • The fuel discount issued by AA Life will be credited to your AA Smartfuel account on a monthly basis one month in arrears. As per standard AA Smartfuel programme terms discounts expire at the end of the calendar month following the month in which credited, e.g. a fuel discount dated 1 through 31 December will expire on 31 January. Where you have taken out more than one Qualifying Policy, the AA Smartfuel discounts will be credited to your account and will accumulate. If you have accumulated more fuel discounts than the pump price per litre you will lose the over accumulated amount.
  • AA Smartfuel discounts are redeemable on up to a maximum 50 litres on a single purchase of qualifying fuel product at participating BP and Caltex locations and cannot be redeemed in conjunction with any other discount or fuel card.
  • After redemption of the fuel discount your AA Smartfuel account balance is reset to zero and no discount is carried forward.

  • AA Life reserves the right to modify the terms and conditions of this offer at its discretion and to extend, postpone or cancel the offer at any time.
  • Employees of AA Life, the Suncorp Group and their immediate families are not eligible for the offer.
  • AA Life will not be liable for any loss, claim, cost, expense, liability or injury (‘Loss’) suffered by any person in any way associated with the offer, except where such Loss cannot be excluded by law.
  • These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of New Zealand Courts.
