5 stars for yet to be released Holden

Holden will release the 2017 Trailblazer SUV later this year which will carry the same 5 star ANCAP safety rating of the 2012 Colorado 7 – the vehicle it is based on.

It comes with a range of safety technologies as standard including Antilock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) to name a few.

But the vehicle doesn’t just focus on occupant safety. The large SUV provides a ‘Good’ level of pedestrian protection to adults and children in the event of a crash.

AA Motoring Services General Manager Stella Stocks says the focus on pedestrian safety is good news for everyone.

“As safety technology improves it’s good to see manufacturers focusing on how to make the roads safer for all road users, particularly our most vulnerable,” she says.

The full list of ANCAP’s vehicle safety ratings, other vehicle safety information and the specifications of the rated vehicles are available online at ancap.co.nz or rightcar.govt.nz.

ANCAP is supported by all Australian motoring clubs, the New Zealand Automobile Association, the Australian Government, the New Zealand Government, Australian state and territory governments, the Victorian Transport Accident Commission, NRMA Insurance and the FIA Foundation.
