The Rt. Hon. Harry Duynhoven, Minister for Transport Safety, will open the AA Driver Education Foundation (AADEF) Annual Conference in Auckland on Friday evening.
The Conference, taking place over June 17 and 18, will address the issues currently affecting young drivers and consider suggested improvements to the profile of driver education in New Zealand. During this Conference, the AADEF will also launch two new driver training DVDs: ‘Learning to Drive’ and ‘Motorcycle Riding in Groups’.
International speakers include Dr Nils Petter Gregersen and Dr Torbjorn Falkmer from Linkoping University in Sweden. Both are leading researchers and lecturers in the fields of driver education and youth driver issues.
Another key speaker is Dr Robert Isler, founding member and one of the principal investigators of the Traffic and Road Safety Research Group (TARS), part of the University of Waikato’s Department of Psychology.
